David North works for CoreFiling, a UK software SME specialising in business and regulatory reporting. Lots of their work involves getting data to and from Excel spreadsheets, which led to David's involvement in the Apache POI project, of which he is a PMC member. He also maintains some smaller open source projects of his own on BitBucket. David has attended ApacheCon twice before, but this is his first time speaking.
